I have been a parishioner at St. Benedict's Church since the age of 8. I went away to university but returned to Sarnia to start my teaching career with the Catholic School Board. Needless to say, St. Benedict's feels like home. There is something very comforting in recognizing so many faces or knowing so many families. We have been blessed over the years to have had many good priests and pastoral teams. They have fed our spiritual needs and helped us through life's difficulties and life's celebrations. I like to think that when we transitioned into The Cluster Parish we just became a bigger family. I feel just as comfortable at OLM and St. Joe's as I do at St. Ben's. I hope that with the changes that will undoubtedly happen in the future, we can stand together in faith. We have to trust that God will walk with us through the joys and challenges ahead.
I believe by giving to The Capital Campaign, we help our church (our family) maintain its physical beauty and in some way, with our donation, we are doing our part in helping our time of worship and celebration together continue for many more years to come.
May our faith community always be there for us. Let's all do what we can to keep our churches vibrant, alive and welcoming!
